If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind the blooms at Poppy Layne, well HEY THERE! I’m Dusty. Floral designer, wedding-obsessed creative, and the founder of a business that started with a dream (and a whole lot of determination).

This story isn’t just about flowers. It’s about taking a leap, trusting your gut, and building something from the ground up, literally, one stem at a time.

Where It All Started

Before Poppy Layne Floral Design became known for bold, high-impact floral installations across Central Texas, it was just me… working 9-5 knowing that I was meant to do more.

I didn’t go to floral school. I wasn’t trained in a fancy studio. But I had vision, creativity, and a love for storytelling through design and that was enough to get started. *Fun fact… I did actually go to fashion design school and I was determined to be a wedding dress designer.

Building a Brand Rooted in Emotion

I knew from day one that I didn’t just want to “put flowers on tables.” I wanted to create emotional impact. I wanted to walk into a ceremony space and feel the gasp when guests saw the floral arch. I wanted brides to hold their bouquet and feel like it was made for them, because it was.

Since launching, I’ve had the honor of designing for weddings at some of the most iconic venues in the region, from Hotel Emma to The Videre Estate and The Preserve at Canyon Lake. Along the way, I’ve built a team, refined my process, and created two floral experiences for couples:
